Dr Balázs Szatmári, the Chief Medical Officer at Richter Gedeon Plc., has been contributing to the company’s medical and scientific mission for over fourteen years. His professional journey has taken him through a range of roles – from clinical project management to leading CNS drug development, and later heading the entire clinical research unit. Since 2024, he has been responsible for shaping the company’s medical strategy, with a focus on the clinical validation of R&D initiatives and supporting evidence-based development decisions.

His expertise spans from early-phase (first-in-human) trials to late-stage clinical research (Phase II-IV) in psychiatry and gynaecology. He is also actively involved in generic medicine development. His work is grounded in scientific rigour, a patient-centred approach, and a strong commitment to international collaborations.
