Prof Dr Loránd Erőss is the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurointervention at Semmelweis University. He is a Professor and specialist in neurosurgery. His clinical and academic work focuses on functional neurosurgery, neuromodulation, epilepsy surgery, and pain therapy. He has introduced several pioneering techniques in Hungary, including the first robot-assisted neurosurgical procedures and deep brain stimulation in the Central European region.

His research is centered on technological innovation in neurosurgery and the translational application of medical device development. He is actively involved in multiple international patents and research collaborations, including the establishment of a network supporting Brain-Machine Interface technologies.

Prof Dr Erőss provides regular instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students both in Hungary and internationally, and contributes as a visiting professor to academic programmes at leading institutions, including Columbia University. He is a committed advocate of multidisciplinary clinical innovation and plays a key role in mentoring young physicians and researchers.
