Dr Zsolt Némethy

Dr Zsolt Némethy serves as the Head of the Systems Biology Research Laboratory at Gedeon Richter Plc., bringing over two decades of experience in pharmaceutical R&D. He has played a pivotal role in several innovative projects, including the development of one of Richter’s successful antipsychotic drugs.
Under his leadership, state-of-the-art laboratories have been established to investigate potential drug effects using advanced technologies such as confocal microscopy, high-content screening (HCS), and cutting-edge cellular and molecular biology methods.
Previously, he worked as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Germany and earned his PhD from Semmelweis University. His current research focuses on identifying novel therapeutic targets for neurological disorders and cognitive dysfunction.
With international project leadership experience and a multidisciplinary perspective, Dr Némethy is a key contributor to Hungarian pharmaceutical research. He combines the stability of a large corporation with the agility of startup culture to drive the development of next-generation drug therapies.
